Finally putting together the video

Image
Hey blog, I'm back! Today my groupmate and I decided that since all of the filming for the video was done, it would be a great time to finally get started on editing the recorded scenes. Since the scenes weren't all recorded on the same device, my groupmate and I thought of sending the scenes to each other. However, this could easily cause confusion during the editing process so I came up with the idea to instead put all of the recorded scenes onto a shared google drive. This also helped my groupmate and I come up with the idea that there should be a shared account for whatever editing software we choose to use. However, none of us knew which editing software we should use for putting together the video. Because of this, him and I researched and came across various software such as iMovie, CapCut, and Adobe Premiere Pro. At first Adobe Premiere Pro seemed like the best choice because of the extensive features it offers. Unfortunately, a big problem with the program was the pri

Wrapping Up The Scenes

Hey blog, I'm back! I'm happy to say that my group has finally finished all of the recordings needed for the music video. The day after I finished filming scenes one through four, my groupmate asked me if I wanted to film some of the remaining scenes at the park with him. I decided to tag along and after he picked me up, we headed to a nearby park that had all of the things needed to film most of the outdoor scenes. After my groupmate and I finished the scenes, it was decided that it would be best if we finished the remaining scenes as soon as possible. This led to my groupmate and I going later in the week to the amusement center known as Xtreme Action Park. Once we arrived at the location, my groupmate had to spend a little while finding a parking spot for his car since most spots were already taken. Because of this, I had the idea to save some time and record the entrance to the building by myself since it was a scene from the storyboard. After my groupmate and I entered th

Bringing The Storyboard To Life

Hey blog, I'm back! During this week I have been able to finally start the process of filming for the music video. Since there was no school this week on Tuesday, I took the opportunity to film the first scene on the storyboard. In order to film the opening scene of the sunrise, I had to wake up incredibly early at 5am. Unfortunately, my mother was not awake yet at this time so I had to pay for an Uber ride to go to the beach. Since I had arrived quite early, I had about an hour or two to wait until the sun rose up. However once the sun rose, I was able to capture a clear and nice video of the sun rising in the distance. After I finished this filming, I also remembered the other scenes from the storyboard that took place at the beach. On a previous day, I had asked some friends if they were willing to help me out by allowing me to record them for scenes 2 and 3 on the storyboard. However, none of them were able to help me out since they all had plans. Because of this, I had to res

Hey blog, I'm back! At this point in time, my group has still not begun any filming. However, my groupmate and I decided that this week would be a good time for some filming to be done. Our group will also be taking advantage of the fact that there are some days off of school in the following weeks to record. In addition, my groupmate and realized that we don't necessarily need much fancy equipment to film as the cameras on our phones have a good enough quality. However, the group does need to acquire a Polaroid camera or Polaroid pictures to use for a scene from the storyboard. Fortunately, I was able to find a friend who was willing to help out by letting us borrow their Polaroid camera. The only other extra piece of equipment that has the possibility of being used is a camera stabilizer to hold our phones. Luckily, I was able to find a couple of stabilizers online that aren't too expensive for me to purchase. Since there is one day off during this upcoming week, I plan

Production Blog: Starting the process of the video

Hey blog, I'm back! During this past week, my groupmate and I have started working on the process needed for the music video. Although our group has not been able to record anything, it was decided that progress should still be made in some way. A couple of days ago the group decided on creating a storyboard for the video in order to have a guide to follow when filming. Fortunately, coming up with ideas for the various scenes only took about an hour to do. The sketching for the scenes on the storyboard was also another quick thing as it only took about an hour and a half to draw them. Although I am not a good artist, I was able to make the sketches detailed enough for the different scenes to be understood. I also already had thought of some ideas before this which helped make the storyboard much faster and easier. After finishing the storyboard, my groupmate and I planned out how we were going to obtain certain scenes. Since he and I were the only people in the group, it was disco

Planning for my Music Video

Hey blog, hope everything is going great! Today our group is planning out how to do the music video.  Song Title - The song that was decided on was "Heat Waves" by the band Glass Animals.  Props - Throughout the video, a variety of props will be used depending on the scenes. These props will include polaroid pictures, sunglasses, a cell phone, beach towels, and a phone camera stabilizer. However, more props might be used once the filming officially starts.  Costumes - The costumes for the individuals in the video would include streetwear, beach attire, and anything that the actors deem comfortable for the chosen location. Schedule - In order to have sufficient time for filming, most of the filming will be done on the weekends when most people are available to film. Some of the filming will also be done on days without school since there will be plenty of time available. However, if the weather or other variables affect our schedule of filming, the group will have to meet

Group Blog

Hey blog, I'm back! Today I am starting the process of making the music video project. For this project, my teacher told the class that people could work within a group of up to four people in order to make these easier. They also explained how our group mates could be students from different class periods who also have the same class. Sadly, I was not able to find any friends who had the class during other time periods. Fortunately, I already knew two people whom I could potentially make a group with from the class. However, one of the people had already decided to work with other people so I asked my other friend if they did not have a group yet. Luckily they did not, so I chose to work with my fellow classmate Carlos Guerra. I chose to work with them for this project because I have known them since I was young and know that they are reliable. I also know that they always put their best effort into their work and are well-organized with their time. Since I have known them for a

Hey blog, I'm back! My name is Carlos Murillo. I am a 16 year old student at Fort Lauderdale High School planning to graduate in 2025. I was born on December 14th, 2006 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to parents of Nicaraguan origin. I have no siblings and I'm currently living with my mother and a small loveable dog. Throughout my daily life, there are many hobbies and activities I like to do. My favorite activity I like to do whenever I get the chance is to listen to music. I'm especially a big fan of hip-hop, pop, and rap music. Without music I would find my life to be pretty bland. Video games are another hobby that adds more excitement to my life especially when playing with friends. Many find video games to be a waste of time, but video games have positively impacted my life throughout the years. One other activity I recently picked up over the summer is going to the gym. I find the gym to be a good source of stress relief and a great way to improve my overall health. Unli
