Reflection

Hey blog, I'm back! During my time making the commercial, I had the opportunity to learn how to use new technology. This new technology included video and photo editing software. The main video editing software that I learned to use was CapCut. While using CapCut, I learned that making videos is not as hard as I first believed it to be. While doing this project I was also able to learn how to extract audio such as music from a place like YouTube and how to add audio to videos as well. I was also able to learn how to remove small unwanted things and do small edits to photos through the use of photo editing software. While putting together this commercial, I also learned a lot of various things. One of the main things that I learned was the importance of being organized. Being organized with my resources and what I needed to do during this project together made the process of making the commercial feel much easier than I thought. The way in which I kept organized during this was to

Hey blog, I'm back! Today I will be attempting to fully finish my commercial. The first thing I did today after loading up Cap Cut was to play what I currently have as the commercial. This helped me to notice that I did not fully finish implementing transitions the last time I worked on the commercial. Fortunately, this was a very quick fix for me as I now had a better understanding of how to use Cap Cut. While adding the rest of the transitions to the video, I remembered a previous idea of using subtitles. My previous idea was to use subtitles when the commercial transitioned into a new media piece to add more information. This information could provide the audience with context on what is going on, or an estimate as to how old the content is. After I finished making the transitions between the media pieces, I quickly added the subtitles and was satisfied with how they looked. In the end, I also decided to add a small part that gave credit to the music and where the content was o

Hey blog, I'm back! Today I am continuing the process of working on my commercial. Last time I decided to organize the photos and videos into a chronological order of my life and researched more ideas. I am planning to see if I can finish most of the commercial today and leave some minor details for fixing later. In order to do that, I first decided to look at the media content I had put into the editing software and decided that it would be best to edit some of the photos and videos. In this process, I quickly downloaded a photo editing software called PicsArt along with the editing tools already provided in the photos app on my phone. I edited the photos by cropping them and removing things I didn't want in them. For the videos, I mostly cut out parts of them to make them fit better in the commercial and reduce the chances of any awkward transitions. After finishing this editing, I placed the photos and videos back into CapCut in their chosen order. Once the photos and video

Hey blog, I'm back! Last time I looked for video editing software and began to work on my commercial. Today I am continuing to work on putting the videos and photos together. After loading up Cap Cut to continue working on the video, I decided that it would be best to work on tweaking the video by making finding how to make it run more smoothly. In order to do this I searched online for ideas on how to make transitions in between the pieces of media. I also decided to check out iMovie to see if making transitions on there would be easier. However, Cap Cut looked to be easier to use for making transitions than iMovie was. After searching online for information on making transitions in Cap Cut, I had a couple of ideas that I wrote down to use later on. I also stumbled across the option to add a voiceover in Cap Cut which I might end up using later on. For now, I decided to add the rest of the videos and photos to the commercial without a specific order. However, I remembered my orig

Hey blog, I'm back! Today I am starting the process of putting my photos and videos together for my commercial. In order to put my commercial together, I began to search for different editing software that I could use. I found multiple editing software such as Cap Cut, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, and more. After researching the capabilities and prices of different software, I ultimately decided to mainly use Cap Cut. This software is completely free to use and has various easy-to-understand tools that I can use to put everything together. I will also be making use of other software such as Apple iMovie if Cap Cut doesn't have all the tools I need. During my previous planning I had the idea to make my commercial similar to a timeline of my life. This means that I will be putting my photos and videos in order from oldest to most recent. During the time from my previous planning until now, I was also able to collect more photos of myself. Some of the people I had asked f

Hello blog I'm back and beginning the process of picking out everything for my commercial. The first step in my process was having to find photos of myself. However, this was a problem since I don't have any content of myself on my phone. I even looked through different social media apps but I was unable to find anything. Fortunately, my mother had numerous photos of myself at different ages and periods that I could use for the commercial. I was also able to find pictures of myself around the house from when I was younger. Many of my friends also sent me more photos of that I could use. The next step in my process was to find two to three videos of myself to include in the commercial. The videos were much harder to find even with the help of my mother. In the end, I was barely able to find four with none of them being anywhere near recent. However after contacting some family members, I was able to obtain one more video. I also contacted some friends to ask for videos. However,

Welcome to my blog, my name is Carlos Murillo. I am a 16 year old student at Fort Lauderdale High School planning to graduate in 2025. I was born on December 14th, 2006 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to parents of Nicaraguan origin. I have no siblings and I'm currently living with my mother and a small loveable dog. Throughout my daily life, there are many hobbies and activities I like to do. My favorite activity I like to do whenever I get the chance is to listen to music. I'm especially a big fan of hip-hop, pop, and rap music. Without music I would find my life to be pretty bland. Video games are another hobby that adds more excitement to my life especially when playing with friends. Many find video games to be a waste of time, but video games have positively impacted my life throughout the years. One other activity I recently picked up over the summer is going to the gym. I find the gym to be a good source of stress relief and a great way to improve my overall health. Unlike m
