Officially Completing the Video
Hey blog, I'm back! Today my groupmate and I are finally finishing all of the editing needed for the music video. In order to do the editing more efficiently, it was decided that each of us do separate things during the editing. Throughout the editing, I will be working on the transitions, editing the video clips, and working on more minor details such as credits. In return, my groupmate will be working on removing all the sounds from the scenes, syncing the chosen music, and editing the video clips along with me. It was also decided that each of us should work in shifts so that both of us aren't editing at the same time and no issues arise. The first thing that I did to start my process was to review a couple of music videos from artists in order to see how they use transitions throughout their videos. After viewing some videos and writing down some notes, I quickly got inspiration and multiple ideas on what I could do to improve my own video. I then loaded up CapCut and finished putting all of the scenes together following the order shown on the storyboard. Once I completed this, I let my groupmate know so that they could do their part in editing the video. After they finished, I immediately got back to work on trying out different transitions between the scenes. Although I had written down some ideas, I was still having difficulty choosing which transitions to use since CapCut has such a wide variety to choose from. Luckily, I already knew what type of transitions I wanted to use to switch to some scenes such as a bright, camera-like flash before showing the scene of the polaroids. After going through the selection of transitions that CapCut has to offer I was able to choose which transitions would fit the best with the rest of the scenes. Adding the transitions didn't take too long so I decided to scan the individual scenes in depth and see if there were any issues. I decided that most of the scenes looked good but there were some details and things that could be done to enhance the appearance of the video. One of these things was improving the colors and lighting in some scenes. However, since these obviously couldn't be filmed again, I decided to download another editing software and quickly fix up the scenes before adding them back into CapCut. Once this was finished, my groupmate and I decided to review our music video a couple more times in order to see if there was anything else that the music video needed. However, he and I felt pretty content and proud of what we had done and decided that the video was fully finished at last. Bye blog, see you guys later!
